Just wanted to say how much I love your photograph 'The Circle of Life'. I think the lighting and angle is just beautiful. I know the rat is already dead, but the expression seems to be one or resigned acceptance. Fantastic work. :)

These are some of the best photographs of animals I've seen. It has to be hard getting such awesome pictures of zoo animals, on the account of they sleep constantly(at least when I go). Your reptile pictures are amazing, especially the snakes, but overall you have a very beautiful gallery

did you gave your piton a mouse and watched it calmly while he ate ? poor creature. the circle of life. it's not circle of life, because it's not natural circle. if it happened in nature, then yes. but now... it doesn't deserve to be called the circle of life. poor mouse  just no...

Well, if snake doesn't live in nature anymore, it is actually perfectly normal to feed it with rodents.. If a man takes any animal (including snakes) under his roof, he's obligated to care of them and feed them, and as snakes eat mouses/rats, it is just a feeding, a circle of life.
Btw. if you're not a stric vegetarian or vegan, better think of WHAT (OR WHOM) YOU EAT

It was a frozen rodent, bought from a specialist who breeds them specifically for this purpose (Brie made the comment in her 'GTP Feeding Series' photos) The mice/rats are kept in good conditions, fed well and always euthanised humanely using co2 gas. I keep a python and I buy her food in bulk from suppliers who treat their rodents humanely. Pythons are carnivores and unfortunately will only eat other animals. I am, and many other snake keepers are against live feeding, which sadly still occurs.

i am not against that circle of life. i am against something that is breed specially for one purpose - to earn money. these people are breeding poor creatures to be able to live and then other people are buying it because of their strange needs, wild animals are supposed to live in nature, to be free, not grow in some cage and not be able to see their real life. for example, ermines live 8-10 years and when people are taking them home their life becomes shorter. seriously, 8 years of their poor life not seeing nature, green grass, wilderness, i think people are very selfish, they can get whatever they want, what that poor animal can do? nothing. well i am not saying that these animals are not being loved, no. i think they are. but still. it's just wrong.
and then, i am more interested how these rats/mouses are kept. are they closed in the cage as every mass production in our life, like simple chickens or cows. i am against wrong threating, i am not against people earing meat, i am against how these animals are kept and breed and...

no. i still think it is not right... in the other hand, i understand that if you are keeping python you need to feed him, so frozen rodents are way better than living creatures.

but frozen rodents are the same rodents, just frozen = killed before snake could eat them... Srsly, I don't get your logic.
