Its a ripe Salmonberry. So named because in other stages of development, they look like a cluster of salmon eggs. :) And yes, you can eat them. They taste like a milder, sweeter blackberry, and grow on a similar throny vine.

I've never actually seen these ripe. I've seen them yellow or orange, but this is really pretty. Nice photo. The car worked great as a backdrop. :D

this is just a beautiful shot. the almost pure white for the background really makes the salmonberry pop very well but it doesn't overpower the eye. indeed very beautiful.
